Kanya & Kage is a project by André Kanya and Jan Kage, bringing together two established Berlin art spaces and their respective networks. The project grew out of Kanya Berlin · Project Space and Schau Fenster and is based in a former Kreuzberg basement at Eisenbahnstraße 10.

The space combines exhibition rooms with a bar and social setting, creating a place where exhibitions, artist talks, concerts and informal encounters overlap. Each exhibition is conceived specifically for the distinctive architecture of the space, bringing together different positions in contemporary art.

Since its opening in 2018, Kanya & Kage has presented exhibitions, artist talks, concerts and video formats, while also developing digital projects such as the Backoffice Selection during the COVID-19 lockdowns.

Kanya&Kage understands the exhibition space not only as a place for presenting art, but also as a space for exchange, encounter and the formation of a community around contemporary artistic practice.
